This new tour is based on the industrial and mining heritage of South Yorkshire, visiting some of the places featured in the 1996 film ‘Brassed Off’, starring Pete Postlethwaite as the leader of a colliery brass band. This nostalgic package includes a talk on local mining life, a film evening in the hotel of ‘Where There’s Brass’ and a special performance by a local brass band, plus a visit to a mine to complete the experience of life in a Yorkshire mining community. There will also be a guided tour of the local area. This will be an interesting and nostalgic tour.
