Your Hotel

Royal York & Faulkner Hotel

A magnificent Regency building, enjoying an unrivalled position on Sidmouth's elegant Esplanade. Dating from 1810, the hotel has undergone extensive, though careful, refurbishment, encompassing beautifully appointed public areas with excellent amenities. The hotel bedrooms differ in style and décor; some traditional, befitting this fine Regency building, others, more modern and contemporary. All offer en-suite bath or walk in shower, flat-screen colour television, radio, telephone, hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities. Two lifts serve all floors. The hotel's oak-panelled restaurant, overlooking the sea & Esplanade, retains high standards of traditional service, whilst offering personal & individual attention. The menus, which combine the best of classic and modern cuisine, are prepared by the hotel's highly-regarded head chef, Mark Leavers, and his team, using fresh local produce. The substantial breakfast menu includes Finnan haddock, smoked kippers or the traditional ‘English’, whilst the table d'hote dinner menu offers a choice at all four courses. The elegant Faulkner Lounge Piano Bar is open each evening for drinks before dinner.
