Join us on a fascinating tour through the industrial heartland of north-west England on a cruise along the Manchester Ship Canal to the wide open waters of the Mersey estuary. During a unique journey through time, discover how this magnificent waterway shaped the industrial landscape of the region, passing through locks and past bridges that have remained largely unchanged since their construction over 100 years ago.

Our Itinerary

Sunday - Today, we make our way to our hotel in Frodsham for the next three nights dinner, bed and breakfast. Tea or coffee will be served on arrival while you luggage is taken to your room.

Monday - This morning, we will embark on a cruise along the fascinating Manchester Ship Canal. The six hour trip is as informative as it is relaxing as we listen to a live commentary that explains the story of how the magnificent waterway shaped the city of Manchester and the North West. There is a licensed bar on-board from which we can purchase refreshments and snacks during our trip from Salford Quays to Liverpool. At the end of our cruise, our coach will meet us in Liverpool and return us to our hotel in time for dinner.

Tuesday - This morning we travel to Historic Chester, one of England's best preserved medieval cities. As well as walking the Roman walls and marvelling at the Norman cathedral, here you'll find the medieval Rows, a uniquely tiered series of shops on covered levels that combine to make the city's most famous landmark.

Wednesday - After a leisurely breakfast we depart our hotel and return to our local area.
