A new tour for 2017 we travel to the upper reaches of the River Severn and the borders between England and Wales, the countryside of Shropshire shelters some of the most beautiful landscapes and unspoilt towns that you can imagine.

Our Itinerary

Monday We collect you from home to join your coach and travel to Shropshire arriving late afternoon for a four night stay with dinner, bed and breakfast at Buckatree Hall Hotel with tea & biscuits served on arrival. Hotel entertainment is provided on two evenings during your stay and a gala dinner on one evening.

Tuesday Our day begins with a drive down the picturesque Wenlock Edge, off the beaten track towards Ludlow, a medieval town with a Norman Castle at the top of the town square and countless historic buildings. The town is a delight and we have free time to explore. We return past the impressive Stokesay Castle to Church Stretton and through lovely Shropshire countryside.

Wednesday This morning we travel to Shrewsbury a town packed with timber framed black and white buildings amongst narrow alleyways surrounded by the River Severn. We have time to explore and obtain lunch before our afternoon visit to the delightful town of Much Wenlock for a short break before returning to the hotel.

Thursday Today we have included a visit to the impressive Ironbridge Gorge where the world’s first iron bridge, designed by Thomas Telford, forms the centre of this World Heritage Site, birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. We have included a visit to the Blist’s Hill Open Air Museum a chance to experience life as it was over 100 years ago through the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of a recreated Victorian Town.

Friday After breakfast we depart for home with suitable stops en route.
