Our great wine-themed tour features the rich rolling vineyards of the Rioja region of Spain and Portugal’s famous port wine estates. As well as wine tasting, this charming tour also includes a great blend of colourful Spanish fishing villages and beautiful Portuguese sandy beaches.

Tour Itinerary

Tuesday - We collect you from home and travel to Portsmouth for our late afternoon departure to Santander
with Brittany Ferries.
Please note that meals aren’t included on the ferry, these will need to be purchased on the outbound and
inbound journey. The cabins are inside facing but for a £76.00 supplement per person can be upgraded to
one with a port hole (limited availability).

Wednesday - We will arrive at our hotel with time to settle in before dinner.

Thursday -  This morning we travel to San Sebastián, known as the ‘Queen of Resorts’ and home to one of Europe’s best beaches, La Concha Beach. Where we will get to enjoy a guided walking tour through the narrow streets and old port and introduce us to the city’s famous tapas bars.

Friday - Today we drive southwards to the Rioja vineyards and visit the Ramon Bilbao Winery where we
experience a guided tour and tasting. We will then visit the capital of upper Rioja, Haro, where we can enjoy
free time for lunch and an afternoon discovering its medieval charm.

Saturday - This morning we leave northern Spain and stop for lunch in the beautiful city of León (please note shops & restaurants close between 2-5pm) before continuing to Portugal and our next hotel.

Sunday - We enjoy a relaxing day in our beautiful resort where we can take a dip in our hotel's lovely outdoor pool or enjoy a gentle stroll along the promenade to Esposende beach.

Monday - This morning, we enjoy a guided tour of the historic town of Porto, Portugal’s second city, with its beautiful buildings and atmospheric squares. In the afternoon, we visit a port wine estate across the river in the Vila Nova de Gaia area where we learn the process of producing port whilst enjoying a sample or two.
