This tour allows you to see some of the highlights York has to offer including Castle Howard, a journey on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and a cruise on the River Ouse.

ITINERARY

MONDAY – This morning we will collect you from your home address, bringing you to meet your tour coach as it will make its way to York. Once arrived we will have time to settle in before dinner.

TUESDAY – Today is ‘York in a nutshell’. After breakfast we are joined by our tour guide for a comprehensive morning sightseeing tour of York. The afternoon we enjoy a cruise on the river Ouse with Yorkboat with free time afterwards in York.

WEDNESDAY – This morning we leave for a spectacular scenic tour to Whitby and the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. Our first stop is Pickering where we join the North Yorkshire Moors Railway for a ride across the moors as we make our way to the historic seaport of Whitby, with its ruined Abbey atop the cliff overlooking the busy harbour.

We have time for lunch here and to explore the town before returning across Blakey Ridge, offering some of the most spectacular views of the area. From Hutton-le-Hole we continue to Helmsley for a short break before returning to our hotel.

THURSDAY – We have the morning free for further exploration of York city centre. You can visit the Jorvik Centre, The National Railway Museum, walk the City Walls, the list is endless. This afternoon we visit the delightful Castle Howard.

FRIDAY – This morning we will board the coach and bid farewell to the Queens Hotel as we begin our journey back to Wiltshire, making suitable comfort stops on route.
