Banish those winter blues with this luxurious break to the Lake District, we are staying at the lovely Lakeside Hotel which boasts beautiful views across Lake Windermere. We enjoy a visit Leighton Hall in Morecambe Bay, stately home of the famous Gillow furniture making family.

ITINERARY 

FRIDAY – This morning we will collect you from your local pick-up point as we begin our journey to the Lake District, making suitable comfort stops en route. We will have time to settle in before dinner which will be followed by entertainment.

SATURDAY – This morning we take a scenic drive around Morecambe Bay arriving at Leighton Hall. An impressive grade two listed stately home of the famous Gillow furniture making family. We will have the chance to explore the famous collection of Gillow furniture.

During the afternoon we travel to the Cumbrian market town of Kendal, home of the ‘mint cake’. Before we journey back to the hotel where we enjoy our evening of entertainment and make use of the hotel’s facilities.

SUNDAY – Today we take a scenic drive north through the Lake District. We ride along Lake Windermere making a short stop in Windermere. Before we continue on to Ullswater and reach Keswick, the capital of the North Lakes area, where you will have the chance to find some lunch. Following this return to the hotel, making a stop in Grasmere on the way. This small but well-known village is the perfect place to stretch your legs, why not try to find the famous Gingerbread shop! We can enjoy a final evening of entertainment at the hotel tonight.

MONDAY – This morning we bid farewell to our hotel and the Lake District as we begin our journey home, making suitable comfort stops on the way.
