Situated on the warm Mediterranean Gulf Stream, the Italian Riviera combines the very best of classical sightseeing tour with the pleasures of a relaxing beach holiday.
OUR ITINERARY
WEDNESDAY – This morning we collect you from your home address, bringing you to meet your tour coach as it makes its way to for our included channel crossing. Once we have arrived, we will continue our journey to our overnight hotel in the Dijon area.
THURSDAY – Following our overnight stay we will board the coach and begin our journey to our hotel in Diano Marina. With time to settle in before dinner.
FRIDAY – Day at leisure in Diano Marina, known as the ‘jewel’ of this region. Set in a wide sweeping bay with safe sandy beaches, it offers elegant shops, restaurants and cafes along its palm fringed promenade.
SATURDAY – Full day to Monte Carlo and Monaco. The atmosphere here is both big city and miniature operatic. Monaco refers to the principality, located high on the rock, where you find the Royal Palace, the church where the Princess Grace is buried, the famous Oceanographic Museum and the old town. Down from the rock you find the newer 19th-century area of Monte Carlo made famous by the Grand Prix motor race.
SUNDAY – Take the coastal road to San Remo, capital of the ‘Riviera of Flowers’, famous for its casino, palm trees and festivals. It is said to be the Riviera’s most glittering and cosmopolitan resort awash with shops and elegant boutiques.
MONDAY – We head to Alassio, this former feudal town which belonged to the monks of nearby Isola Gallinara is now one of Italy’s most popular holiday centres. The town’s muretto has hundred of ceramic tiles reproducing the signatures of its famous visitors.
TUESDAY - We get to enjoy another day at leisure in Diano Marina.
WEDNESDAY – This morning after breakfast we bid farewell to Diano Marina, and return to our overnight hotel in the Dijon area.
THURSDAY – Following breakfast we will board our coach and begin our journey home, heading to our included Channel Crossing, before continuing through England to Wiltshire. We will make plenty to comfort stops on route.
